Character Sculpture
Divide your Christian youth group into smaller groups. Four to six to each group is a perfect number. Give each team a roll of cling wrap, aluminum foil, paper towels and duct tape. The object of this game is to transform one member of each group into a sculpture of a Bible character. The group needs to choose a character and then start sculpting. Give youth 10 to 30 minutes to make their sculptures. Some fun ideas include a muscular sculpture of Samson and Moses holding the Ten Commandments. Have the other teams guess what the character sculptures are. Give the youth instructions not to wrap anyone's face.
Bible Baseball
Christian youth enjoy this traditional party game. Divide your youth group into two teams. Have trivia questions ready to ask them, such as trivia questions from recent lessons or sermons. Assign a first, second, third and home base around your room. The object of this party game is to have the teens score points by moving their players around the baseball field. They move their team around the bases by answering the trivia questions correctly. Just like in baseball, three outs changes the who's up to bat. Each wrong answer is considered an out. You need lots of questions ready in case you get into a high-scoring game. Have one teen-ager keep score on paper and give a shout out when it's the end of the ninth inning. For fun, use baseball decorations around the room to set the mood.
Crossword Names
You need a large sheet of white paper for this game. A six-foot sheet cut from a roll is ideal. For this easy-going game, your teen-agers attempt to create a crossword puzzle using their first names. Start the game by putting your first name in block letters in the center of the paper. One by one have teens write their names on the paper in block letters, connecting the names by the same letter. It's like a giant Scrabble game only with first names. Each person should be able to connect his name to someone else's name. This game is a wonderful way to do some team building among members of a youth group.
