Games to Play With Apples

Bobbing for Apples

• Fill a tub with water and float apples in it. Have players hold their hands behind their backs and try to pick up apples using only their mouths. Have towels handy.

Apple Pass

• Divide players into teams. Place an apple under the chin of one team member. When you say "Go," players must pass the apple from one player to the next using only their chins and necks. If an apple is dropped, teams have to start over.

Apple On a String

• Tie apples to long pieces of string and suspend them from the ceiling, a door top or a tree. Each player is assigned one apple and must try to take a bite out of it without using his hands to hold it steady.

Hide the Apple

• Have players sit in a tight circle. Choose one player to be "it" and have her sit in the middle. Players pass an apple behind their backs so that she cannot see who has it. Fake passing is allowed. When she says "Stop," everyone must freeze. If she can correctly guess who has the apple, they change places. Otherwise, the game goes on with her in the middle.

Apple Toss

• Pair partners and have them face each other a few feet apart. Have them toss an apple back and forth. After each successful toss, they take one step back and go again. The last team to drop an apple wins.
