Kids Games for Halloween

Halloween is the perfect time of year to have a party. If you decide to have a Halloween party for your child and her friends, you will have a lot of planning. Decorate your house with scary decorations and serve some ghoulish finger foods. Pick a few Halloween party games to engage the kids. Make this a fun party for everyone.
  1. Pin the Horns on the Devil

    • You can put a Halloween twist to a birthday party favorite. Instead of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, play Pin the Horns on the Devil. Play the same way as the traditional party game. Make or buy a big devil to hang on the wall. You can make several devil horns out of red construction paper. When you are ready to play the game, blindfold one child at a time. Give them a set of devil horns and let them go. If they get the horns in the correct spot, give them a small prize. If no child gets the horns on the devil, give a prize to whoever gets them the closest.

    Pumpkin Decorating Contest

    • For this contest, you will need several small pumpkins. Because this is a game for children, do not let them carve the pumpkins. Have them decorate them using art materials. Set up a few small tables and cover them with paper table clothes or newspapers. Give the children paint, glitter, stickers or anything you think would be fun for decorating. You can set a timer for 15 to 20 minutes. Enlist some adults to help judge the contest. Give awards for different categories; for example, best looking pumpkin, funniest and scariest. The kids will enjoy decorating their pumpkin and will get to take them home.

    Mummy Wrap Relay

    • You will need several rolls of white crate paper for this game. This game will have everyone in hysterics as they are racing to the finish line. Divide the kids into teams of two. Give each team a roll of crate paper. When the race starts, one person will wrap their partner from head to toe in the white crate paper. They will have to use up the entire roll. They need to leave a spot open for their partner's eyes and nose. Once they are wrapped up, they have to hop to the other end of the room (you can set up a finish line). To make this game more fun, play some Halloween music in the background; the "Monster Mash" is always a favorite.
