Outside Party Games for Teens

Outside teen parties mean less clean up and more fun for active and energetic teens. Outdoor party games should use the largest available space, or partygoers can be taken to an outdoor game arena for more structured entertainment. Without the worry of damaging interior decor, teens can make a mess, be loud and use up all that young energy while celebrating a friend's birthday or special event.
  1. Survivor Games

    • Whether yan obstacle course, endurance or a weird food challenge, you can run your own minisurvivor game in your own backyard. Use old tires and ropes to create a "Survivor"-like running course. For the endurance challenge, have teens stand on one foot for a set amount of time and inspire laughs and cringes by challenging them to eat odd, but safe, food such as cooked frogs legs or fried crickets. Whatever challenges you present, offer all teens a specially made "buff" (or personalized bandanna) and the chance to earn points for each completed or won game. At the end of the games, those with the most points win a prize.

    Ropes Course

    • Ropes courses are special obstacle courses run in a safe way. Reserve a ropes course for your teens' party and have them complete age-appropriate challenges, as climbing a rope ladder, swinging across a pond or sliding down a zip line. Ropes courses are meant to build friendships and conquer fears in a supportive group environment and are supervised and led by skilled staff. It is a useful way to build friendships and entertain teens.

    Paintball

    • Whether you go to an outdoor arena paintball or use your own land and create your own course, teens love the action and adventure of a paintball game. Rent all the equipment you need at a paintball course or have teens buy the equipment to use repeatedly. Teen partygoers will be split into two teams to attack each other in a friendly competition or play as a team against other teams. Outdoor courses feature plenty of space to run and many items to hide behind while planning attack. With layers of old clothing and special protective gear, teens enjoy the live-action play.

    Water War

    • A warm-weather take on a paintball game, Water War pairs summer days with super water-shooting guns to create an active and soggy activity perfect for a teen party. Supply teens with the water shooters and split the group into two teams. Provide shelters throughout your yard or around a park setting and start the attack.

    Ball Games

    • Target ball-throwing games are easy to set up and fun for teen partygoers. Whether you have them throw a football through a tire or a basketball through a hoop, ball-throwing games offer everyone a chance to play no matter their physical prowess and points are no problem to calculate. Offer 10 points for each successful throw and after five or 10 throws per person, depending on the number of guests, the high-point winner receives a prize.
