Guess the Illness
Doctors have to be medical detectives when it comes to caring for patients. Play a pediatrician game with your baby dolls and have the doctor figure out what is wrong with your baby.
Write several kinds of illnesses, such as stomach flu, sore throat and runny nose, on index cards. Include three or four symptom clues on each card. Shuffle the deck of cards and turn them over, so the girls can't see what is on the other side. Ask each girl to select one card, but to not show it to anyone in the group.
Let the girls take turns playing doctor and mommy. Select one girl to be the mommy, and give her the baby doll. Ask her to choose one other girl in the group to be the doctor. The mommy takes her baby to the doctor because she isn't feeling well. The mommy can give the doctor one clue about why her daughter isn't feeling well. It's up to the doctor to ask the mommy yes-or-no questions about the illness to diagnose the baby.
Each doctor gets 10 minutes to figure out what's wrong with the baby. The doctor who figures out the baby's illness before the timer goes off gets a prize.
Bandage the Baby Game
Uh, oh, baby fell down and got hurt. Now she needs a full body cast. Supply each girl with a large baby doll and a roll of toilet paper. They have 10 minutes to give baby a full-body cast, using the toilet paper. The catch is that they must use the entire toilet paper roll.
Be sure each baby is the same size and that the girls have identical rolls of toilet paper. Give each girl a set of stickers, so she can tape pieces of toilet paper to specific parts of her baby. The first girl who fully covers her baby wins the game.
Doctor Dress-Up
Play this funny doctor dress-up game while you are blindfolded. Tell a story to begin the game that you are on call, but learn that they need you in surgery---STAT. You race into your closet to find your scrubs and doctor's uniform, but it is too dark to see, so you have to get dressed in the dark as fast as you can and get to work.
Visit the local second-hand store to purchase a few sets of scrubs and large white coats. Dig through your daughter's doctor-play kits for items such as a stethoscope, thermometer and a pen and paper. These items are also available at your local dollar store too.
Create two doctor dress-up areas that includes scrubs, a white coat and some doctor accessories. Blindfold two girls who need to get dressed as fast as they can. Make the game harder by turning the girls around a few times after they've been blindfolded and have them find their clothing nearby. The first girl who is fully dressed wins.
