Games for Teen Groups

Hosting a group of teenagers can be a stressful endeavor for any parent. Left to their own devices, even the best group of teenagers can get themselves into some sort of trouble. When being responsible for any size group of teens, it is best to be prepared. Having several games teens can play will help to keep them occupied and your stress level to a minimum.
  1. Murder Wink

    • Murder wink can be played with any size group of teenagers and requires minimal equipment. Get a deck of playing cards and take out enough cards so each player has one card. Make sure there is only one Jack in the pile of cards. Sit the group in a circle and deal the cards out. The player who is dealt the jack is the "murderer" and the rest of the players are potential victims. The object of the game is for the murderer to "kill" other players by winking at them and the players to catch the murderer. If you are winked at by the murderer, you are out of the game. (Dramatic acting while "dying" is encouraged.) Anyone who is not the murder and is still in the game may accuse someone of being the murderer. If that person is correct, the murderer is out. If that person is wrong, he and the person he accused are out. If the murderer is caught and gets kicked out of the game, the cards are re-dealt so there is a new murderer. The winners are the last two players left.

    Who Am I?

    • Who Am I? require players to use their brains to determine an answer from a set of questions. The only things needed for this game are pens and sticky notes. Have players sit in a circle. Each person needs a pen and a sticky note. Each player must write the name of a famous person fictional or not) on the note and turn it over so no one can see what he wrote. Each player then passes the paper to the person on her right. Without looking at the answer, the players stick the pieces of paper to their foreheads so the other players can see it but they cannot. Players take turns asking questions about who they are in an attempt to ascertain their identity. At the end of a predetermined time, the players must announce to the group who they think they are.
