Dress Up Time
A Barbie Dress-Up Party can incorporate fashion. Have a trunk or bin with dress-up accessories. The trunk can include scarves, boas, hats, jewelry and sunglasses. Let the guests create fashion outfits by using the accessories available.
Have a makeover area where each guest gets an up-do hairstyle or glitter streaks put into their hair. You can set up a manicure area where nails are painted by an older teenager or adult. Use quick-drying polish so the girls can get back to the party.
Create a Barbie Ball fashion party. For this, each guest and their doll will dress in a fancy outfit. A dance for ball can be the theme. Some children may not have fancy attire, so have dressy clothing and accessories available for them.
Fashion Runway
Create a fashion show runway, complete with a walkway, backdrop and lights. Once the fashion outfits have been created, let the guests walk the runway like a model. Have an adult or older child show the guests how a model "works" the runway.
Set up a photo session area. Here, the guests can get their glamour pictures taken in their favorite outfit or fancy dress. Incorporate the guest's Barbie doll if they bring one. Print the pictures and give one to each guest when they leave. This can serve as a special memory of the fun they had.
Doll Games
A Dress the Barbie competition will have each guest dress their doll in a complete outfit, including accessories and hairstyle. Have an adult judge the best overall fashion look. Other awards could be best hairstyle and best accessorizing.
Set up a Barbie Doll runway so the guests can pretend the Barbie Dolls are walking the runway like a model.
Younger children will enjoy free play time with Barbie's. The invitation can invite the guests to bring their favorite Barbie doll, or have enough for each person. Set up areas with accessories and clothing so the children can experiment with fashions.
