Leap Tall Buildings
The kids at your party can play Superman by leaping tall buildings in a single bound. Construct an obstacle course of cardboard boxes painted to look like buildings. You can include other obstacles like tires to climb over and chairs to go under. Set up the course in a large room or in your yard, and time players as they go through it. Have a Superman-themed prize, like a cape or a Superman T-shirt, to give to the child with the fastest time.
Kryptonite Keep-Away
Play hot potato with a green ball or glow stick to represent kryptonite. Have the players sit in a circle and pass the kryptonite around the circle as you play the Superman theme song. When you stop the music, the person holding the kryptonite is out. Give a prize to the last person still in the circle.
Phone Booth Relay
Let the children at your party practice transforming from Clark Kent into Superman and back again. Build two phone booths out of cardboard boxes, and divide your group into two teams. Each team gets a Clark Kent costume (a tie, a jacket and glasses) and a Superman costume (a cape, red boots and a Superman T-shirt). Put the Superman costumes in the phone booths, and put the Clark Kent costume at the beginning of the relay. The first member of each team must put on the Clark Kent costume, run to the phone booth and change into the Superman costume. He then runs back to his team and takes off the Superman costume, which he gives to the next member of the team. The second person puts on the Superman costume, runs to the phone booth and changes into the Clark Kent costume. The team that finishes first wins. Have a small prize that you can give to all the members of the winning team.
Pin the "S" on Superman
Play the Superman version of "pin the tail on the donkey" by having players pin the "S" on Superman's chest. Print out a picture of Superman with the "S" removed from his chest and hang the picture on the wall. Give each child a cutout of the letter "S." Have them take turns being blindfolded and trying to pin the "S" where it belongs on Superman's chest. The person who gets her "S" the closest wins a prize.
Find the Kryptonite
Paint golf balls or ping-pong balls bright green and hide them throughout the party area before the party begins. Have players search for the balls and bring them to a bucket where the kryptonite will be safely contained. However, players cannot, of course, touch the kryptonite: they must use tongs and oven mitts to pick it up safely.
