How to Build a Raffle Ticket Drum

Nothing brings people together like a proper raffle. The key is transparency and a raffle drum. There is no need to invest in a prefabricated drum when you can build one with minimum expense. A dash of invention is always appreciated, especially when it comes to creating the focal point of an evening's chance spin. Though the raffle drum keeps them riveted, it's the goodies they can win that keeps people coming back.

  • Roll of 1/2" Chicken Wire
  • Staple Gun

Instructions

    • 1

Measure out two 3-foot circles on the sheet of plywood.

    • 2

Mark off the diameter, then pin the string to the center of the circle. Tie the other end of the string to the pencil and draw out two perfect circles.

    • 3

Cut out the circles with a saw, then cut out a hole in the center of both circles that will accommodate the dowels.

    • 4

Attach the chicken wire between the two plywood circles using the staple gun.

    • 5

Cut a door in the chicken wire and attach it using left over chicken wire. This will be the ticket door.

    • 6

Draw and cut out two support arms in any shape you prefer. Be sure to notch the ends of the arms so the dowel can rest on them.

    • 7

Brace the support arms with any leftover plywood and position the drum.
