Instructions

  1. Instructions for Celebrity

    • 1

Give out a pencil and several slips of paper to each person. Have each person write the name of somebody, real or fictional, who should be known to all people in the room. After writing the name, each player should fold the piece of paper up.

    • 2

Collect the names in a bowl or hat. Shake them up, allowing the papers to get mixed up.

    • 3

Divide the participants into two teams. Each team will take its turn pulling a name from the bowl and trying to get teammates to guess what name has been pulled. Teams earn a point for each correctly guessed name. After a minute, the player's turn is up, and the next team goes. Any name left "unguessed" is returned to the bowl. Play alternates between the two teams until all the names have been guessed.

    • 4

Pay attention to the names that are being guessed in the first round. The second round gets harder. In Round 2, the same names are used again. This time, you may only use 2 words to get your team to guess the name you have drawn.

    • 5

Prepare to laugh. Round 3, the final round, is even harder. The names are once again placed in the bowl, but there's now no speaking allowed. You must get your team to guess the name you have drawn using nothing more than charades. At the end of this final round, the team with the most points is declared the champion. Quite frankly, everyone who plays this fun game is a winner.

    Instructions for Five

    • 6

Give out a pencil and several slips of paper to each person. Have them write the name of a general category on each, such as "Harry Potter Characters" or "Words that Start with S." Make sure each category has at least 7 possible answers. Each player should then fold up the pieces of paper.

    • 7

Collect the categories in a bowl or hat. Shake them up to allow for the paper to mix.

    • 8

Select one player, known as the caller, to go first. They select 5 slips of paper from the hat and read the categories aloud to the rest of the participants. Each player other than the caller will write down the name of one word that fits the category he thinks the caller will say. He should also write down one he thinks the caller won't say.

    • 9

Wait for all the participants to write their responses. Then, the caller once again announces each category. He then names 5 things that fit the category. One point is earned for each correctly guessed prediction.

    • 10

Tally up the points after every player has had a chance to be the caller. The highest score is declared the winner.

    Instructions for Casting Couch

    • 11

Divide players into teams of equal size. Any number of teams will work, but 4 is the ideal number. Designate one player as the "studio executive" who will serve as host and judge.

    • 12

Select one member of each team to sit on the "casting couch." Give them each a pencil and a piece of paper.

    • 13

Listen carefully as the studio executive announces the name of a movie that has not been made, like "The Secret Life of Horses" or "Mary Potter." The players on the casting couch now write out a short description of the film's plot and the two stars who will act in the fictional film.

    • 14

Collect their work, after having each person fold up his slip of paper, in a bowl or hat. Shake them up to allow for the paper to mix.

    • 15

Vote on each player's favorite selection after the studio executive finishes reading each response. The player whose "pitch" gets the most votes earns a point for his team. Ties are broken by the judge. After each player has had a chance to sit on the casting couch, the team with the most points is declared the winner.
