Things You'll Need
Instructions
Purchase the Left Right Center dice. There are three dice with six sides, marked with 1 L, 1 R, 1 C and three black dots. The game is inexpensive and can be purchased online or at your local toy or game store.
Gather a group of players. You can play with a minimum of three people, but more people make the game better and interesting. The maximum number of players is determined only by willing participants and number of betting items available.
Determine your betting medium. For a fun little wager that doesn't entail too much risk, get everyone in the group to ante up 3 single dollars. If you'd prefer not to bet money, you can use any medium--coins, poker chips or candy are just a few options. Some versions of the game include chips.
Review the rules with your group. Everyone has their bets out on the table, or ready to use. We'll assume that you're using chips for betting, but the rules work the same regardless of betting medium. The L means pass one chip to the left, the R means pass one chip to the right and the C means put one chip in the center of the table. The dot means that you hold onto one chip.
Begin the game by rolling the dice. You will then pass your chips according to what you've rolled. Once you've rolled and passed your chips accordingly, pass the dice to the person next to you--it can go either clockwise or counterclockwise. You can determine the rules you want to use, but general dice play requires a re-roll for any dice that roll off the table.
Continue game play. The dice will continue to be passed around the group in this manner for a number of rounds. Each person can only roll as many dice as the number of chips they have. So if you have 1 chip left, you only roll 1 die. If you have no chips left, you won't roll at all that round, but are not necessarily out of the game, as someone next to you may pass you her chip(s).Chips in the center of the table are out of play and are similar to "the pot" in poker. Eventually, more and more chips will end up in the center and players will have fewer and fewer chips to play with.
Award the winner. The last player holding chip(s) wins. He receives all the chips (or money) from the pot. Game time will vary depending upon the size of you group and the individual rolls throughout the game.
Continue to play as many rounds as you want (or as cash allows) and the game will provide hours of entertainment.
