Pranks can be fun and hilarious as long they are not used for cruel intent and there are many objects that can be used for a prank. One of simplest objects to use is the television remote. There are several pranks that can be played with television remote and, by the time you are done performing, the person getting pranked will not want to watch T.V.

Instructions

Battery removal: One of the simplest remote tricks is to remove the batteries from a remote. They will struggle for a couple of minutes trying to change the channel until the problem is figured out. To keep the weight of the remote, use dead batteries inside instead of leaving the case empty.

Ghost Remote: Purchase a universal remote and program it for the T.V. Keep the remote hidden and anytime that the unsuspecting victim tries to change the channel, shut off the T.V. They will usually think that the remote is broken and go to the T.V. to do it manually. When they go to the T.V., press random buttons to confuse them even more.

Alternative Ghost Remote: Instead of programming the remote to the T.V., program it to a VCR or DVD player. When they change the channel, simply press eject to let a tape out of the VCR or open up the DVD tray.

    • 4

Hidden Remote: Nobody likes it when they cannot find their remote, so keep the remote hidden in your pocket as they frantically look for it. When they are not looking, put the remote in an obvious spot so that they see it and get confused as to how they missed it before.

T.V. Block: Instead of removing the batteries, some remotes have light meters on them to show you if they are working. In this case, you need to cover up the television censor so that the remote will not work. Get tape similar to the color of the T.V. (non-transparent) and put the tape over the sensor. The next time they go to use the remote, they will struggle changing the channels.

Program Reversal: If you own a Universal remote, change the different controls to confuse the user. Program the VCR for the DVD, the DVD for the TV, and the TV for the VCR. By the time they figure out the problem, their show or movie will be over.
