Poor Kitty Laughing Game
Choose one person to be the "kitty." There are several ways to decide this including playing a rhyming game such as eenie, meenie, minie, moe; letting the youngest player go first; or by letting the birthday girl or boy take the first turn if you are playing this game at a birthday party.
Arrange all players seated in a circle with the kitty in the middle.
Approach another player if you are the kitty and act like a cat-purring, meowing, clawing and the like.
Pet the kitty on the head three times if you are the person the kitty has approached. Say, "Poor kitty." Keep a straight face and do not laugh.
Win by being successful in not smiling or laughing. Switch places with the kitty if you fail to keep a straight face.
Move on to a different person if you failed to make your victim laugh. Keep playing until everyone has had a chance to be the kitty.
Poor Kitty Guessing Game
Arrange the kids in a large circle.
Decide who will be the first to be in the middle of the circle.
Place a blindfold on the player going first. Have the first player sit in the center of the circle.
Instruct players in the circle to switch around quietly so that the player in the center is unaware where each player is. Have all the kids in the circle sit down.
Have the player in the middle approach someone in the circle. When the center person touches this person, the player that is touched says "Poor kitty" while disguising their voice, then meows.
Identify the player meowing player if you are the person in the center of the circle. If you are successful, switch places with the person you identified. If not, try again by picking a new person to identify.
Keep playing until everyone has had a turn in the middle of the circle.
