Pageant Gown Games

The evening gown competition has come and gone, but the sparkly dress is here to stay. Pageant gowns are especially hard to part with because of their beauty, exorbitant costs and emotional ties. Have a little fun with pageant gowns of bygone days by making them the center of entertainment during light-hearted games. These games will bring old pageant gowns from dusty attic trunks back into the limelight where they belong.

A Shot at Winning
- Make sure guests are of legal drinking age.
  
  Host this adult party on a night that a national beauty pageant airs on television. Require guests to wear their pageant gowns to the party. Have each guest pick a state or nation to represent in the competition. Give each contestant a sash made with thick, white ribbon and instruct her to write "Miss" followed by the name of her state or country on it. Every time the announcer or host mentions a contestant, the guest representing that contestant takes a shot of liquor. Guests can pick different contestants to represent after each elimination round.
She's Got Talent
- This game is a spoof on pageant talent competitions. Instruct guests to wear their pageant gowns. Write the names of odd talents, such as underwater basket weaving, on torn pieces of paper. Fold the papers and put them in a basket. Divide the contestants into two teams. Each contestant is called up and has to perform the talent in her gown until her team guesses. If it takes more than two minutes, the other team can guess, too.
Pageant Murder Mystery
- Buy a pageant-themed murder mystery online or write the script yourself. Your guests will play the roles of beauty pageant contestants behind the scenes of a pageant where a murder takes place. They will wear their gowns and play their parts for the evening. The winner is the person who figures out who the murderer is.
Musical Poser
- This game is a take on musical chairs. Instruct the guests to wear their pageant gowns. Arrange the chairs in a wide circle around the room, with one less chair than girls. Play a pageant-worthy song, such as "There She Is, Miss America" and tell the girls to walk in a circle around the perimeter of the circle of chairs. Every time you stop the music, the girls need not only to find a chair to sit on, but to strike a pose in their gowns while they sit. Any girl who is not sitting in a chair or is not holding a pose is out. Continue to remove one less chair than girl until only one chair and two girls are left. The winner is the girl who poses in the last chair.
