Things You'll Need
Instructions
Review the description of the necklace in the Riordan's book. Each bead has a specific visual representation painted on its surface; for example, the Golden Fleece or the Thalia Tree.
Choose your beads. Choose beads large enough to paint on, about one-half inch to one inch in width and length. Look for beads that have a flatter surface on at least one side, which will make them easier to paint. Fabric stores and jewelry-making supply shops carry a variety of beads.
Paint the Camp Half-Blood symbols on the beads. Paint one symbol on each bead; the centaur, for example, or the green trident. Use the Camp Half-Blood book as a reference for your images. Dip the tip of the brush in the paint and clean the brush before switching to a different color. Keep the image designs simple, such as an animal silhouette as opposed to an animal image with details.
Let the beads dry in the sun or in a warm spot.
Tie one end of the string in a knot. String each bead onto the string with the symbols facing in one direction. Intersperse the large beads with small, colorful beads for extra color and style.
Tie the other end of the string to secure the beads. Wrap the beaded string around your neck and tie the two end-pieces of the string together.
