How to Make a Modded Shield

Click on a game extraction software program's icon on your computer's desktop to open the software.

Click on the computer drive that holds the ̶0;Borderlands̶1; file, and select its ̶0;Content̶1; folder. Click on the ̶0;Username̶1; folder, which includes the ̶0;Borderlands̶1; folder. Click on the "Borderlands" folder. In that folder, find the file named "savedgame," and right-click your computer's mouse to extract that file. Select a location for the file. Close the extraction software program.

Click to open a "Borderlands" modification software program. The program may be on your computer's desktop or in its programs list. Select the ̶0;Open̶1; option from the File menu, and select the save game file you extracted.

Create a new item in the modification software. Select the shield as the new item or object.

Select the side of the shield you wish to modify. Each shield has two sides, right and left. You may add different attributes to each side to make the modded shield stronger. Click on the attributes to add them to one side of the shield. Repeat this procedure for the other side of the shield. Full descriptions of each attribute are on the BorderlandsX website.

Select the ̶0;Body̶1; option, and choose the type of body you want for the shield. The body type affects the recharge rate or delay of the shield. For example, Body.body2 has a plus 25 percent recharge rate. Set the modification for the shield material. Material modifications add special resistances. For example, ManufacturerMaterials.Material_Dahl_3 is extreme corrosive resistance. Give your shield a title.

Save the changes you made to your shield.

Reopen the extraction program. Click on and drag the modded save game file into its window, and replace the existing file with the modded file. When you open ̶0;Borderlands,̶1; your new shield will be available.
