How to Make a Board on an RPG Toolkit

Role-playing game toolkits are programs that facilitate role-playing games by performing complicated computations or linking players together online. The MapTool program is a popular RPG Toolkit that enables players to create game boards or maps online. After a player has created a game board, other players may join that board and play role-playing games in a real-time online environment. Fortunately, creating a game board with MapTool is a quick and easy process that anybody can learn.

  Download MapTool from the Internet.

  Run MapTool by clicking "MapToolsLauncher" in the folder from the download.

  Select "File," then click on "Start Server."

  Enter your username in the "Username" field.

  Create a name for the game board in the "RPTools.net Alias" field. This is the name for which other players will need to search in order to locate your board.

  Create a password to secure your game board from unwanted players. This is an optional step that can prevent strangers from entering a game board that you have created for you and your friends.

  Click "OK" to create your online game board.
