How to Calculate an Experience Modifier

In role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons or one of the many role-playing video games, experience modifiers are attributes that affect the rate at which your character gains experience. These modifiers usually show up as either a percentage or a multiplier. Calculating the total experience gained requires multiplying the base experience by this modifier. The base experience is the normal amount of experience gained by a character for defeating an enemy or completing a task. This information is kept in the game manual or in the on-screen quest information within the video game.

Instructions

    • 1

Enter the base amount of experience earned into the calculator.

    • 2

Press the multiply button ("x") and then enter the amount of the experience modifier. For example, if the modifier is "1.5x," enter "1.5." If the modifier is "10%," enter "1.1." The percentage is determined by dividing the amount of the modifier by 100. This number is added to 1 so that the base experience is automatically added to the total when multiplying.

    • 3

Press the "=" button to see the total amount of modified experience earned for your character.
