Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open a new Microsoft Word or Excel document. Alternatively, download one of various character sheet templates from the web.
Write the title "Name" in boldface or a colorful font at the top left-hand corner of the page. Add a space next to the title for the character's name. Write the name in a larger font size than the title, using a bold or colorful font.
Include a picture of the character directly below the name. Make it prominent enough that it will be eye-catching and engaging to the reader.
Add a large table next to the picture. Using a boldface or a colorful font, type the following titles in the bar: Character, Race, Skill Level, and Experience. Include other pertinent classifications, if possible. Add a space after each title so you can fill in the information.
Add a larger table below the content in Step 4. Include a colorful bar above the table. Type Statistics or "Stats" into the bar using a prominent font color.
Divide the table into three columns. List the types of "stats" in the first column. Examples include: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity.
The second column should list the character's primary points for each stat -- the skill level the character came with.
Write "Mod" at the top of the third column. List the total points for each stat after any modifications made to the character.
Make a much larger table below the "stat" section. Include a bar above it. Type "Skills" into the bar. Use boldface and color fonts to make this bar stand out.
Divide the Skills box into five columns. Leave an empty row below the title bar. Write Ranks, Mod, Miscellaneous and Total above each column starting with the second one.
List as many applicable skills as possible in the first column. These will be more specific skills like Healing, Balancing, Sword Handling, Forgery, etc. The next columns will list the modification points earned.
Color in the background of the sheet if you wish. Play around with the color of the tables, the text font and other features.
