How to Make a Rogue in Dungeons and Dragons 3.5

"Dungeons and Dragons" is a tabletop role-playing game in which you can create any kind of character you want. One of the more common classes is rogue; these are sneaky characters who are skilled at getting things others do not want them to get, whether information or loot. Making your rogue is relatively simple; because rogues are so diverse, you have many possibilities from which to choose.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply rolled stats to the appropriate abilities. As evasive types, rogues need to focus less on strenuous fighting, so strength is not necessary. However, rogues need to maintain a high level of agility and dexterity, and intelligence can help your rogue set traps.

    • 2

Make your rogue chaotic and choose whatever alignment works for his background. As a follower of opportunity rather than ideals, rogues are far less likely to be lawful than chaotic, but whether they are good or evil is ultimately up to you.

    • 3

Pick a race suitable for roguery. Remember that dexterity is important to rogues, so you will want a race that has dexterity bonuses or a race that lacks dexterity penalties. Humans and half-elves have no ability modifiers, making them equally qualified for any class. Meanwhile, elves and halflings have a +2 dexterity bonus. Dwarfs and half-orcs can also be rogues, but with a -2 charisma penalty, they are less likely to be persuasive in conversation.
