How to Do Voice Chat in World of Warcraft

"World of Warcraft" ("WoW") is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that allows players to create characters and explore a virtual realm together -- fighting off enemies, building skills and earning money while completing quests. In WoW, players have the ability to create or join "guilds" to enjoy group activities within the confines of the game. Using voice chat in-game allows players to communicate quickly with group members, making gameplay more efficient.

  Open and load the WoW gaming application and log in with your current username and password.

  Select "Options" from the main game screen followed by choosing the "Sounds" menu.

  Select the "Voice" tab within the "Sounds" window to open the in-game voice chat options.

  Place a checkmark next to the "Enable Voice Chat" option to begin using voice chat in-game.

  Scroll through the voice chat options to enable your microphone (by selecting the checkmark next to the option) and also choosing your microphone software and speaker equipment.

  Select "Push-to-Talk" under "Voice Chat Mode" and below the "Push-to-Talk" header choose a key that will activate your microphone. Enter a key using your keyboard to set the button required for your microphone to activate during gameplay.

  Press "Okay" at the bottom of the "Voice" settings box to save the settings to your game.

  Return to your live game to test your in-game voice chat by pressing the "Push-to-Talk" key set earlier for the activation of your microphone. You will then have the ability to speak to others while playing online in various WoW realms.
