Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set the rules for your tournament in advance, such as what edition of miniatures and rules will be allowed, as table top games such as Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures release an original edition, then update playable units and rules through the years.
Collect registration from players in advance so you are prepared for the number of entrants you receive and can cap the entrants at a set number if you can only accommodate a set number.
Set up tables with two chairs on opposite sides for the players in the tournament.
Pair off players for the first round. If you know skill levels attempt to pair similar players, if you do not do a random draw for positions.
Play matches to 200 points, with a maximum game length of 60 minutes in each round.
Award a point to each winner in a round then pair off players with matching point values.
Repeat the pairing and playing procedure for a pre-announced number of rounds, pairing players with the closest matching player without repeating pairings.
Create a bracket for the top four players after the round robin, with first playing fourth, and second playing third.
Pair the winners of the two bracket matches in a championship, and the losers in a third place match.
