How to Make Your Own Loot List for Dungeon and Dragons

Part of the fun in playing "Dungeons &Dragons" is finding new equipment, armor and weapons for your characters. With thousands of different items available, a player should create a wish list of treasure for their characters to help a Dungeon Master with creating treasure hordes. This will make preparation easier for the DM and offer the chance for you to get more of the items you desire!

  Review the list of magic items, looking for those that are one to four levels above your own. These will be useful but not be able to overpower you.

  Write down the name of each item that sounds interesting. A low-level character should focus first on acquiring a magic weapon, armor and a neck slot item, as these are the most all-around useful for attack and defense.

  Cut the list of items to two or three items of every level. This will leave you with a list of about 10 items from four levels.

  Update your wish list each time you gain a level.You don't want to receive magic items that are below your level or items that were second choices to something you've already received.

  Disenchant older magic items for their residual essence. With this, you can create your own magic items, specifically those that are not found in treasure hordes.
