Instructions
Choose a concept for your character, such as an Indian Shaman, Outlaw or Mad Scientist, from either the rulebook or your imagination. This will help you make decisions later in designing your character.
Select one free character edge from either the Deadlands: Reloaded or Savage Worlds rulebook. Note that not all Savage Worlds edges are available in this scenario.
Increase your character attributes. All five attributes start out at d4. You may spend five points raising the die types of your attributes, with each raise using up a point. No attribute may be raised above d12. Set all secondary statistics to the default levels defined in the rulebook, unless modified by edges or hindrances. Buy skills with 15 points, where raising a die level costs a single point --- until the skill reaches the level of its parent attribute, after which it costs two points.
Give your character hindrances from either rulebook to gain more points. One major hindrance gives two character creation points, while a minor hindrance gives one point, to a maximum of four points. Two points can buy a new edge or raise an attribute by a die type, while one point can purchase a skill point or $250.
Give your character $250, plus whatever money you've obtained by taking hindrances. Use some of the money to purchase gear from the rulebook. Think of a name and backstory for your character and write down his single greatest fear.
