How to Create Holy Water in Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons and Dragons, created by Gary Gygax in the mid-1970s, bears little resemblance to when it first hit the shelves. Back then players received the polyhedron dice and a few thin books. These days there are dozens of thick books, and many more monster worlds and character classes. Still some things have stayed the same over the last 35 years, and one of them is the method used to create Holy Water.

Making Holy Water

  Roll a character. Aim for high wisdom as this is the primary attribute of a cleric and will greatly increase his ability to cast spells. Shuffle points from strength, intelligence dexterity, charisma and constitution to wisdom to make this attribute as high as possible.

  Pick your character class as cleric. Purchase equipment, including at least one vial of ordinary water. Select weapons without edges because clerics can't use anything with an edge. Choose the spell 'Bless Water' as your first-level spell.

  Tell your Dungeon Master that you are going to cast "Bless Water."

  Cast the spell on the vial of water you purchased. Guard the water carefully. It is now Holy Water.
