Altered Zombie or Horror-Related Titles or Names
Use a favorite horror or zombie-related character name to create a zombie screen name. Favorite characters can originate in movies, television, books, RPGs, graphic novels or comic books. Make a list of your favorite horror or zombie-related titles, characters and authors. Experiment with combining portions of the word zombie with the chosen name. For example, Zombuffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Zombirella (Vampirella), Zombrina (Sabrina the Witch), Zombemort (Voldemort) or Zombarloff (Boris Karloff needs no other explanation).
Viral Zombie Screen Names
One of the ways a zombie is created is through exposure to toxins or viruses. Viral zombies are infected by a source and then spread the zombification to uninfected people, and sometimes animals, until the zombie outbreak is out of control and drastic means must be undertaken to eradicate the virus and zombies. Use words that pertain to viruses and illnesses to create zombie names. Use a thesaurus to search for synonyms for the words sick, virus, infection, disease, contagion, illness and others. Another method of "making" a zombie includes the practice of voodoo. Monstrous.com maintains that in today's modern world, voodoo is practiced by 60 million people across the world. Voodoo is a popular source of zombie creation. Black magic, sorcery, potions and incantations are all utilized in the world of voodoo zombie creation. The word "zombi," from the West African god Nzambi, according to Monstrous.com, wasn't used until 1929, when author, William B. Seabrook's book, "The Magic Island," was published. Use voodoo-oriented terms to create zombie screen names. For example, bokor (voodoo sorcerer), variations on the word voodoo (vodou, vodun), and descriptive words associated with voodoo, such as Nzambi, cannibal, grave, undead or walking dead. Combine terms with your own name, a name of your choice, or your birth year, such as CannibalCate89.
Death or Disease Oriented Names
There are many words with definitions that correlate with a zombie's state of being, which is related to death or disease. Medical journals may produce unusual terms that sound cool and that you won't see being used very often, if at all. Remember that death and disease are very much sensory experiences, and use words accordingly. For example, use words such as bones, skull, rot, stink, pus-filled, lurching, rigor mortis, decay, reek, fetid and shambling. Descriptive words can be combined with your first or last name, birth month or date, school name, pet name or the name of your city or town.
