Caring
Perhaps the most realistic of all Mommy games are those that involve having a baby (usually a doll) and caring for it. You can give your child a doll and talk with her about different needs that baby has. Provide her with items that a real baby would use, such as a bottle, diapers and a blanket.
Encourage her to care for the doll in different ways; say, for example, "The baby needs a diaper change now!" If she doesn't know how to do a diaper change, show her how to put the diaper on the doll. While this activity will be a fun game for your little girl, she will also be learning valuable lessons of how to take care of a baby.
Cooking
Many little girls love helping their mothers in the kitchen. Why not make the kitchen an even more fun place by allowing your child to cook up something of her own? Choose ingredients that are complementary to one another, and let her combine them into something tasty. For example, give her yogurt and various fruits that she can mix to make fruit popsicles for a tasty summer treat. Or help her mix up cookie dough and then allow her to shape all the cookies herself. This type of game is fun for girls, is practical, and yields delicious results.
Creativity
Allowing a child to exercise creativity can branch out into lots of fun Mommy games. Moms are always coming up with creative ideas: how to decorate the house, how to save money on groceries, where to take a great family outing. So allow your little girl to dream and create. If there is something she is interested in, provide her with resources and encouragement to explore that domain.
Apprenticeship
The most practical of Mommy games are those where your little girl simply does what you are doing, with you. Allow her to participate in the tasks and chores you do on a daily basis. Visit and explain as you work -- whether it is putting clothes into the washing machine, drying dishes, vacuuming out the car or getting a younger sibling dressed. Your little girl will feel proud to work alongside you, and will also be learning all the while.
