Things You'll Need
Instructions
Know the rules. It isn't necessary for every player to have a perfect command of the rules, but knowing the rules for your character helps keep the game moving smoothly. No one enjoys pausing the action to wait for a player to look up a relevant rule.
Provide your own materials. If you can afford to, bring your own rulebooks, dice, pencils and other game supplies. Don't forget your character sheet or other supplies. Bringing snacks to share will also help improve the game.
Be considerate of other players. Give everyone a chance to speak, and encourage shy or new players to contribute. Don't talk over others.
Compliment other players. At the end of a session, thank the game master for the game. If another player does well, be sure to mention it.
Think of the enjoyment of others. The only way to succeed in role-playing games is for everyone to have a good time. If you keep the other players' experiences in mind, you'll soon be considered a great player.
