Greater Truedeath Crystal
A Greater Truedeath Crystal is a weapon augment that can substantially improve a scout's effectiveness against undead. A weapon with this crystal added does plus-1d6 damage to undead, possesses the Ghost Touch attribute and ignores undead critical hit immunity. A major advantage is that this can be installed and removed from weapons whenever needed, so it does not interfere with normal weapon upgrading. It costs 10,000 gold, significantly less than many magic items.
Ring of Counterspells
The Ring of Counterspells is a magic ring that allows a first through sixth rank spell to be cast into it. The next time that spell is cast on the wearer, it is automatically countered. This is useful for scouts, a class that almost totally lacks spell defenses. It is commonly used to block enemies from dispelling beneficial buffs. The Ring of Counterspells is far less valuable for scouts from a race, such as Drow, that have natural spell resistance. The Ring of Counterspells costs 4,000 gold.
Greater Shadow and Greater Silent Moves Armor
The hide and move silently skills are used in conjunction by a scout when sneaking around. Armor normally interferes with the effectiveness of these skills. Magic armor with Greater Shadow and Greater Silent Moves properties grants a plus-15 bonus to each skill. This counteracts any armor penalty and still provides a significant bonus to both skills. Magic armor with both enchantments costs an extra 67,500 gold compared with the price of the armor itself.
Wings of Flying
The Wings of Flying is a cloak that allows the wearer to fly. This is very useful for a mobility-oriented class, such as the scout. This item allows the scout to fly over obstacles that would normally block or at least slow down his path. This is useful for both escaping from and chasing enemies. The Wings of Flying costs 54,000 gold.
