Visit local hobby shops, gaming shops or comic book shops in your area. Sometimes these types of stores have game rooms that are used by local D&D groups. Ask the shop clerk if any D&D groups meet at the store or if he knows of any local groups that you can contact. The Hobby Retailer website (see Resources) has a hobby shop locator.
Join some D&D groups on Yahoo Groups (see Resources). Some of these groups are utilized to help interested members find local groups in their area. It is free to join Yahoo Groups.
Look on Meetup.com (see Resources) to identify any local D&D meet-ups in your local area. The site lists meet-ups for D&D groups all over the world. Meetup.com is free to use.
Sign up on the Wizards Community website (see Resources) for the official D&D community group. This group offers news as well as the chance to connect with D&D enthusiasts in your area. It is a worldwide community. The community also sponsors Worldwide D&D Game Day each year.
