How to Send Shovels in FarmVille

In FarmVille, you play a farmer who grows and sells crops, animals, and trees, and undertakes a variety of challenges to earn rewards. Sending gifts to neighbors and receiving them in return helps you grow your farm faster. However, limited space means you need storage for seasonal items. The best storage feature is the underground cellar, which requires little space, and which grows by giving and receiving shovels as gifts.

Instructions

  Add many neighbors to your FarmVille game by sending requests to players who are not yet on your neighbor list. The more neighbors you have, the quicker you increase levels, which will unlock more gifts to give.

  Click the "Free Gifts" tab on the top-left-side of your FarmVille game screen. A new screen will open with pictures of gifts you can send to neighbors. You can click the box of any gift that is not locked. Find the picture of the two crossed shovels in the box that says "Cellar" and click on the small circle in the box.

  Scroll back to the top of the "Free Gifts" page and click on the box that says "Proceed to Send." Choose from the lists that include suggested friends, FarmVille friends and Facebook friends, and click on the box that you chose. A list with your friends' names will come up.

  Click on the names of friends you want to send shovels to. The number of friends you can choose depends on your game level and how many gifts you have already sent that day. The game won't let you choose more than you're allowed; a box will appear on the screen that says "You have already selected 50 people," or whatever number of gifts you are allowed to give.

  Click on the blue box with the white envelope that says "Send FarmVille Gift Request." A box will come up to preview the request. Click the "Send" box in the bottom-right-hand corner of the request box to the left of the cancel button.
