How to Print RPG Floor Tiles

RPG floor tiles are graphical additions to an RPG game that helps players visualize the gaming environment. Designed to represent any interior or exterior ground cover, the tiles add a sense of perspective to playing by granting players a visual representation of game-world size. To use many of these tiles, you'll have to print them out on your own computer. Due to differences in printers, however, a specific setup process is required to use the exact tile intended by the artist who designed it.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the floor tile document with a document viewer. Most documents for RPG floor tiles are in the PDF format, which you can open using Adobe's Acrobat Reader program, offered as a download from the Adobe website.

    • 2

Place the 8.5-by-11 inch card stock paper into your printer.

    • 3

Set the paper size for the printer to match the paper size dimensions of the file instructions. Print the tile using a high-quality printer setting

    • 4

Wait five minutes for the print to dry. Spray the printout with a thin layer of clear acrylic spray paint to protect the image from fading or damage from handling. Do not saturate the card stock with the spray. Let the card stock to dry about two hours.

Place the card stock onto a cutting board. Cut the tiles from the card stock using a hobby knife and a straight edge as a guide for cutting along the tile borders.
