Dragon Chase
Divide the group into two teams, with each team forming a line. Each member on the team receives a piece of a dragon costume. The child at the front receives the dragon head and each child in succession receives a scale to place on his back. The dragon head can be made from a cardboard box decorated to look like a dragon and the scales could be made from triangles cut from felt or construction paper. The child at the end of the line receives the dragon's tail, a piece of streamer attached to the seat of his pants. In an organized game of chase, the two teams try to grab the tail of the dragon from the other team first, while staying in their own dragon line.
Knight Jousting Relay
For this game, each child dresses up as a knight and grabs a jousting stick. The knight costume is fashioned out of a piece of cardboard, covered with foil, made to look like a knight's shield. The jousting sticks are long cardboard rolls wrapped with tissue paper streamers for decoration. The knights are assembled into two lines. At the opposite end of the space, set up a line of balloons tethered to the ground with a balloon weight. Each knight takes turns galloping on his imaginary horse toward the balloons. The knight uses his jousting stick to strike the balloon and free it from its prison, the string. After freeing the balloon, the knight returns to his team as the proud champion.
Musical Slipper
Have a tiara or crown, available at craft or party stores, for each girl and have them dress up in their best princess attire to attend the ball. Purchase a toy glass slipper from your local party supply store or cake-decorating section of your local craft store. Assemble the girls into a circle on the ground. In a game similar to musical chairs, have music playing as a toy glass slipper is passed around the circle. When the music stops, the girl holding the slipper leaves the circle. The last girl left is given the slipper as a token at the end of the game.
