Batman & Spiderman Games

Batman and Spider-man are two of the comic-book world&'s most recognizable superheroes. Since their creation decades ago, there have been numerous movies, television shows, and cartoons based around their fictional lives. In an effort to further expand their respective franchises numerous board and video games have also been made. This allows both children and adult fans to enter a fantasy world where they can imagine themselves as their favorite caped or web-slinging crusader.
  1. Spiderman 3 Video Game

    • This video game is based on the storyline of the Spider-Man 3 live-action movie. This is a single-player video game played from a third-person perspective which allows the player to play as the classic Spider-Man as well as the Dark Spider-Man that is featured in the film.
      The goal of the game is to defeat a barrage of foes and super-villains such as Sandman, Venom, and Green Goblin utilizing special fighting moves by pushing different combinations of buttons your video game controller. The game is set in New York City, and allows the player the ability to roam free throughout the city to find special power-ups, weapons, and side missions.
      Spider-Man 3 was released in 2007 with a manufacturer&'s suggested retail price of $59.99 for Microsoft Xbox360 and Sony PlayStation 3, $49.99 for Nintendo Wii, $39.99 Sony PlayStation 2 and PSP, and $29.99 for Nintendo DS.
      The game is rated "T" for ages 13 and up.

    Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin Board Game

    • This board game allows players to use the roll of the die to race into battle against the Green Goblin. The game is heavily based upon the first Spider-Man film, released in 2002. The object is to collect five Spidey-tokens in order to gain enough power for the final showdown against Green Goblin. Along the way there are numerous spaces that can cause pitfalls or award special powers to your character.
      The game includes a game board, plastic building with small Spider-Man and Green Goblin action figures, 20 Spider-Man power tokens, Green Goblin game cards, game die, Spider-Man movers and stands, and an instruction manual.
      The game is designed for 2 to 4 players aged eight and up.
      Pressman Toys prices the game at $11.73.

    Batman: Arkham Asylum

    • This highly stylized single-player video game allows the player to fight the evil Joker and other criminally insane foes within the confines of Gotham City&'s Arkham Asylum. The game has a grittier story and graphics that give it a similar feel to that of the recent Batman films "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight". The goal of the game is to fight your way through levels and missions by defeating criminals and eventually the Joker by using Batman&'s specialized weapons and maneuvers.
      The game was released in the summer of 2009 with a manufacturer&'s suggested retail price of $59.99 for Microsoft Xbox360 and Sony PlayStation 3 and $39.99 for the PC.
      The game is rated "T" for ages 13 and up.

    Batman Monopoly

    • This version of the classic game plays exactly the same as the original. Players take turns rolling dice and moving around the board with Batman-themed avatars such as the Joker and the Bat-mobile. On each turn the buying, selling, and trading of Batman themed properties such as The Bat-Cave and Penguin&'s Ice Lounge occurs. The goal is to eventually own all of the board&'s properties and knock players out by forcing them to pay you with "Bat-Bucks" when they land on your property.
      The game is designed to be played with between two and six players ages eight and up.
      The game once carried a manufacturers suggested retail price of $35.99, but now can cost over $60 on websites such as Amazon and Ebay due to it being out of print.
