Fun Pokemon Games

Pokemon, a game where players (known as trainers) collect and battle interesting creatures (Pokemon), was first released in the U.S. in 1998 as a video game for the Nintendo Game Boy and has since increased in popularity, made into a television show and then trading cards. Currently Pokemon fans have a choice between a variety of different types of games; video games offered exclusively on Nintendo game systems, trading card games and board games offer children a competitive, fun and interactive activity.
  1. Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia

    • Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia is a single-player Nintendo DS role-playing game that challenges players to capture Pokemon with a hands-on approach by drawing circles around the moving creatures. The ranger in this game, either a boy or girl, is more of an animal- and nature-lover than an animal trainer. Players capture the characters to use their special powers, then release them back into nature. This game features touch-screen controls, 2D graphics and an adequate-sized quest that includes 270 Pokemon to capture.

    Pokemon Rumble

    • Pokemon Rumble is exclusively for the Nintendo Wii game console and can be played by up to four players. Pokemon Rumble is a battle game in which the players control Pokemon in a variety of stages in attempts to defeat and collect more Pokemon fighters. Players can choose from all the Pokemon they collect in battle and play in the Battle Royale setting with the goal of being the last player standing. Nintendo Wii owners can visit the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel and download the Pokemon Rumble demo for free.

    Pokemon Trading Card Game

    • The object of the Pokemon trading card game is to knock out an opponent's Pokemon and collect six prize cards that are set aside before the start of the game, or to cause the opponent to run out of Pokemon cards by defeating each card with one of the player's own. Players need a coin, two 60-card decks and counters to mark damage. The card game involves strategy and variation, with endless combinations of cards to put into play. Players can trade cards, create their own decks and utilize several different strategies during game play depending on what scenario they are presented with: evolving from one Pokemon to another, attaching energy to damaged Pokeman characters, retreating a damaged Pokemon, playing a trainer card, using poke-powers or attacking with energy cards.

Pokemon Champion Island DVD Board Game

    • The Pokemon Champion Island DVD Board Game combines a board game and interactive DVD with a fast-paced trivia game that challenges players to collect and train Pokemon while encountering puzzles, mini-games and head-to-head competition. Each game takes about 45 minutes to complete and four players can participate. Included with the game are 4 player pawns, 60 wild Pokemon disks with storage pouch, 13 trained Pokemon disks, 12 academy crests and 1 movement die.
