How Do I Buy a Counter in The Sims 2?

Creating and building is just one of many activities in The Sims 2. As you build a house and choose the different interior and exterior furnishings, you can have fun experimenting with a variety of styles and decors. Create a kitchen to satisfy the most discriminating taste of any Sim by choosing only the best counters and appliances.

  Load The Sims 2.

  Choose a neighborhood by clicking it. Wait for the neighborhood to load.

  Move your mouse around the neighborhood and select a house by clicking it. Wait while the house loads.

  Click "Buy Mode" to suspend active Sim play while you decorate and make changes to the house.

  Select "Surfaces" to browse the surfaces available for purchase. Click the "Counters" icon, then click the arrow buttons to browse through your options.

  Click a counter you like, then move your mouse anywhere within the house to place it. Click your mouse to finalize the purchase.

  Reposition the counter by clicking it and moving your mouse. When you like the position of the counter, click again.

  Click "Live Mode" to return to active Sim play.
