How to Paint Leather in Warhammer

Warhammer is an epic tabletop war game that allows players to battle with their own personal miniature armies. Players purchase disassembled miniatures and glue them together before painting them and taking them out to battle. Half the fun of the game is to paint the miniatures in exquisite detail, and painting leather armor can sometimes prove to be tricky. The key is to start with a bold leather color and highlight it with another, lighter color.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Dip a small paintbrush into a Citadel Colour Paint. Try "Scorched Brown." Carefully coat the entire leather area in the paint, let it dry and then add another coat until the brown is solid and even.

    • 2

Dip the same paintbrush into "Snakebite Leather." Gently roll the paintbrush sparingly over the dried Scorched Brown, leaving behind small traces of the color. Continue until the armor is patchy with the Snakebite Leather. Allow it to dry.

    • 3

Wet a new small paintbrush with "Bleached Bone." Lightly trace the paintbrush over the areas on the armor to be highlighted. Use only small flicks and lines to portray light reflection. Let the miniature dry completely. Wash the paintbrushes off with warm water in a paper cup.
