How to Create Custom-Styled Clothing in Sims 3

"The Sims 3" is a life-simulation game released in 2009. The game allows players to customize every part of their Sims' appearance, from having blue skin to colors and patterns of clothing styles.

Instructions

  Click on "Create a Sim" and scroll down and click on the clothing icon. Find the piece of clothing that you would like to edit and click it.

  Click on the icon that looks like a paintbrush and palette. This is the "Create a Style" tool. You can now change the color or pattern of the clothing. Some pieces of clothing have multiple areas that you can change.

  Click on the drop-down menu on the right to change the material. You can choose pre-made (or downloaded) material and patterns for your clothing.

  Adjust the color slightly in the color wheel at the bottom, if you wish. Below the color wheel you can adjust the darkness and lightness of the color.

  Save the pattern for future use, if you wish. On the left side of the screen near the top, you will see the object in its original colors. Under it are icons that allow you to delete, share and save.

  Accept the recolored object by clicking the check mark under the color wheel. If you would rather not change it, you can cancel by clicking the "X."
