Things You'll Need

Study history. Many of the major figures in Ventrue history are taken directly from the pages of American history books. The more you know about, say, William Randolph Hearst, the better you can fit into the mythical world of the Ventrue. The clan is all about money and power, so most great members of the American "nobility" have been co-opted into starring roles in the history of the Ventrue clan.
Practice memorization. The Venture are notoriously anal about lineage, and any Ventrue character should be able to recite his--back to the beginning of vampires. Some storytellers will let you get away with simply saying that your character relays the information, but hardcore Ventrue players can recite the lineage themselves. This is also representative of a Ventrue's ability to know the lineage of any clanmate he encounters. This can be useful, as it lets the character know the relative power level of whatever Ventrue he happens to meet.
Focus your initial discipline powers on Dominate. Ventrue have three disciplines: Dominate, Presence and Fortitude. Fortitude makes it harder for other people to hurt or kill you, and Presence makes social interactions easier. Dominate allows you to use the power of the mind to force other people and other vampires to do your will. At high levels, it also allows you to take over another person's body by dominating his mind. This can save your unlife.
Practice acting as though you have lots of money. Playing a Ventrue is a mindset. Why do your own dirty work when you can hire people to do it for you? Most Ventrue characters are used to getting their own way, and throw fits of one kind or another when they don't.
Learn all the secret societies. By reading the books, you will find that there are dozens of ceremonies and secret societies in which the Ventrue participate. Each is considered a display of power within the clan, and represents an achievement the character can make. In the Ventrue clan, power rules supreme.
