How to Develop a Jeopardy Game

"Jeopardy!" is a popular TV trivia game show. It's available in a video game format, but you can create a Jeopardy game to play in many different circumstances. It's a great way for teachers to review a topic that was taught in class. Use it as a fun way to keep kids learning during their summer break or just invite friends over for a fun evening of play.

Instructions

    • 1

Select five categories for the first round. (For example, Presidents.)

    • 2

Research your categories and answers online. Compose five answers for each category (remember, contestants' responses come in the form of a question) for a total of 30 questions--six categories with five answers apiece. (Example: "He was the first president of the United States."). Write the answer on one side of the index card; on the other side, write a dollar amount. The easy clues will have a lower dollar amount.

    • 3

Tape the index cards with the categories on them on a board in a horizontal row. Below each category, tape the index cards so the dollar amount is showing.

    • 4

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 with new categories and answers, only this time double the dollar amounts on each card. This board will be for the Double Jeopardy round.

    • 5

Create one last category along with one difficult answer. This will be used for the Final Jeopardy round.
