Pokemon Card Deck Strategies

Pokemon trading card games have always been collectible items since it began. However, the cards more uses than just collecting. Players also use Pokemon cards to engage in battles. Two players face off with a deck of exactly 60 Pokemon cards and battle to see who is the victor.
  1. Balance

    • A good deck should ideally contain a balance of each type of Pokemon cards: 20 Trainers, 20 Energy cards and 20 Pokemon cards. Depending on the primary strategy of your deck, shift these numbers by a few may be necessary for a tough deck.

    Trainers

    • Concentrate on using Trainers cards to the best of your deck&'s strength. Do not waste card space with additional unnecessary cards, such five Potions or five Fire Energy when your deck does not have a Fire-type Pokemon. Players often make the mistake by adding too many or too few Trainers. Test your deck in battles and find the balance that works for you.

    Pokemon Focus

    • Players often make the mistake by adding too many unnecessary Pokemons. For example, avoid having 20 different, but powerful Pokemons in your deck. Rather than that, have focus on one or two powerhouses and try to get them out onto the field. This way, you do not waste time trying to power up all the Pokemons that you have but rather focus on strengthening your most powerful Pokemon so that it can obliterate your opponent.

    Energy

    • Players also make the mistake of adding too many or too few Energy cards. For example, you do not need 30 Energy cards nor should you have only 5 Energy cards. In any case, you either cannot get your Pokemon onto the field or you cannot power them after they are. Again, battle many times and find that balance for your deck.
