How to Set Up a Jeopardy DVD Home Game System

Jeopardy, commonly known as "America's Favorite Quiz Show" (they've even patented the statement), has broadcasted on television since 1984. The show's popularity has resulted in a number of Jeopardy licensed interactive and board games, including the Jeopardy DVD game.

The DVD game uses an IR (Infrared) receiver, along with wireless "buzzers," allowing up to three players to compete and answer Trebek's toughest questions. Setting the game up isn't difficult, and shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes.

Things You'll Need

DVD player
DVD player remote control
Four AA batteries
Six AAA batteries

Instructions

  Remove the battery cover from the game unit; insert four AA batteries and replace the cover. Connect the game unit (using the provided AV cables) to the "Input" jack on the back of your DVD player.

  Position the game unit near eye level. The unit needs to have a direct line of site to the wireless controllers.

  Remove the battery covers from the wireless controllers. Install two AAA batteries into each controller.

  Insert the Jeopardy DVD into your DVD player. Press the "Play" button on your remote or player.

  Enter the Jeopardy setup menu. Choose "Buzzer Setup."

  Position your DVD remote against the game unit display (one inch or closer). Press the "Left" arrow button on your remote when prompted (you'll be prompted twice).

  Point your DVD remote towards your DVD player; press the "Skip Forward" button when prompted.

  Repeat steps six and seven to program the "Down," "Right" and "Up" functions. When you are finished, your Jeopardy controllers (buzzers) will be programmed and the game will automatically start.
