Spinning the Wheel
As the beginning of each turn where a vowel is not purchased, the player has to spin the wheel. The wheel is divided into 24 segments. Twenty-two of these segments feature numerical cash values ranging from between $300 (the lowest number) to $5000 (the highest). The other two spaces include one "Lose a Turn," where the player can no longer spin the wheel until the other two have completed their turns, and "Bankrupt," which has the same effect as "Lose a Turn" with the addition of losing any money acquired during the round. Money that carries over from other rounds is not effected by a "Bankrupt."
The player spins the wheel until he either lands on "Bankrupt," "Lose a Turn" or he guesses a letter that is not part of the puzzle.
Selecting Letters
Once the player has spun the wheel, he can select one of the 21 consonants from the English alphabet. Depending on how many of one letter appears in each puzzle, the player will earn a multiple of whatever dollar amount the wheel has landed on. For example, if the player spins and the wheel lands on $400 and the player selects the letter "R," the player can earn between $400 for one occurrence of the letter or, say, $1,200 for three occurrences of the letter.
If the letter is not on the board, the player loses his turn.
While players can select consonants at their leisure, vowels have to be purchased. Each vowel costs $250, and, unlike consonant multipliers, the number will not go up based on how many of each vowel appears. So if the player were to buy the letter "E" and there were five Es, the player would have only spent $250, not $1,250.
Bonus Round
At the end of the game, the player who has amassed the most money gets to play a "Bonus Round." All 24 spaces on the wheel have an unmarked envelope placed on them, with prizes ranging from cars and vacations to $1,000,000 in cash. Once the player spins the wheel to select his envelope, the final puzzle is revealed and the letters R, S, T, L, N and E are given to the player. The player then picks three more consonants and a vowel. After the letters are filled in, the player is given 10 seconds to solve the puzzle and is given an infinite number of guesses in those 10 seconds.
