How to Identify Corelle Serving Bowls

Corelle is a brand of serving ware made by Corning Glass Works. Corning began making its Corelle brand of serving bowls and dinnerware in 1970. Corelle bowls are prized around the world for their strength and durability. Unlike other glass bowls, Corelle products often feature colorful designs made possible by Corelle's unique design, which features a core surrounded by top and bottom glass layers. The core is decorated with various patterns and then encased in glass, creating scratch-free designs.

  Research the seller before buying a bowl advertised as a Corelle bowl. Contact Corelle's Customer Care Center at (800) 999-3436 or online to verify that the retailer is an official seller of Corelle products.

  Flip the bowl over and examine the bottom of the bowl for markings indicating it's a genuine Corelle bowl. Use a magnifying glass if necessary to assist your examination. Look for the words "Corelle," "Livingware," "Vive," "Impressions," "CorellePro" or "Square" as an indication that the bowl is an official Corelle bowl.

  Compare the colors, design and pattern of the bowl against Corelle's online display of discontinued patterns if the seller is advertising a discontinued piece of Corelle dinnerware.
