Art Supply Grants

Finding a way to supplement your art supply purchasing budget can be so difficult as to feel impossible. Fortunately there are many grants available for artists; unfortunately many of those are for residencies or are artist specific to finish a particular project. Most grants for buying art supplies are for local classrooms or community art initiatives.
  1. Lee County Art Supply Grants

    • Supported by ArtFest Fort Myers, the Lee County Art Supply Grants provide grants of $200 to $400 to elementary school art teachers to supplement the yearly supply budget. Funds can be used to purchase any supplies the teacher feels would benefit the students, including clay and firing supplies, mask making supplies, beads, glitter, glue and crayons.

@15 Community Grants Program, Best Buy

    • Best Buy provides grants to select nonprofits through the @15 Community Grants Program to help teens excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop leadership skills. They offer one time grants of up to an average $3,000-$5,000 and not exceeding $10,000 to support "a diverse population of young teens in the areas of learning, life skills, leadership or relationship development." While not technically an art grant, innovative programs that serve a diverse population and help to build social, academic, leadership and/or life skills in teenagers qualify. The grant money can be used to purchase supplies that further the reach of the nonprofit, including software programs, computers, equipment and supplies for making installations and more.
