Things You'll Need
Instructions
Clean and inspect each empty shell case for any defect that would make it unsafe to reload or potentially damage the reloading equipment.
Lubricate the exterior of the case using a lube pad, and the interior with a case neck brush, to keep the brass case from getting stuck in the die or becoming distorted.
Install a sizing die in the press. Resize the case, bringing it back to its original shape. (This step also removes spent primer.)
Measure the case length. If the resizing process stretched it too long, trim it with a case trimmer. Use the deburring tool to remove any burrs resulting from trimming and to allow for the proper seating of the new bullet.
Install the expander die in the press (for straight-sided shells only) and expand the case mouth. (In most shells, this step is completed in Step 3.)
Put a new primer in the case with the press.
Use a funnel to pour an accurate amount of the correct type of gun powder into the case.
Install a seating die in the press and seat the bullet into the neck of the case. Measure and adjust the seating depth, if necessary.
