  Log on to the Internet and visit the online Yellow Pages. Type "Self Storage" in the business box and the name of the city and state where you are looking for storage auctions and hit the "Search" tab.

  Print out the results from your Yellow Pages search so you have the name and telephone number for the storage facilities in your area.

  Call each storage facility and ask them if they are going to have any upcoming auctions for storage unit property.

  Call the storage facility on the day of a planned auction to make sure that the auction is still going to take place. Tenants sometimes wait to pay their outstanding rent until the day of an auction, causing it to be canceled.
