How to Collect Willow Ware

The willow pattern is one of the most popular patterns in china and has been replicated by several companies in different countries over the years. Often blue and white, the china is sometimes known as "Blue Willow," but because it also comes in other colors, it generally goes by the name "Willow Ware." Collectors can choose from among a number of brands, colors, styles and eras.

Focus on English, Japanese or American ware, or limit your collection to only classic blue and white or another color scheme. Decide that plates will be all you look for, or perhaps pieces of all types. The makeup of your collection is up to you.
