How Do I Program a Wattage IC-380?

While playing with the finished product seems like the most fun, many hobbyists enjoy the process of building their electric aircraft. A lot of thought goes into the components that will power the plane. One of the most important elements of the aircraft is the electric motor control system. The Wattage IC-380 is an electric motor control that can be programmed directly into the motor of a variety of electric planes to help moderate their speed.

Instructions

    • 1

Take the propeller off. Depending on your particular plane, the propeller may be removed directly from the motor or from the body of the plane itself.

    • 2

Find the motor terminals on the motor and solder the two capacitors of the Wattage IC-380 to them.

    • 3

Check the polarity of the ESC motor leads against the motor. Connect the motor leads to the corresponding terminals. Then check the polarity of the speed control and attach it to the receiver.

    • 4

Insert a fully charged battery into the ESC and turn on the transmitter.

    • 5

Test your Wattage IC-380 by putting the transmission in full throttle. At full throttle, the stick should be pushed all the way up and the motor should be running. Bring the stick back down the lowest it will go and make sure that the motor is off at this point. Increase the settings on the ATV if full motor speed is not reached at full throttle.
