How to Repair a Blade MSR Servo

The Blade MSR is a radio-controlled "ultra-micro" helicopter by E-flite. Weighing in at less than an ounce, the Blade MSR is a sensitive flying machine, and if its parts are not all performing properly, it can easily crash. Among the parts that are prone to damage are the servos with their attached arms. If the Blade MSR is not performing as normal, the servo arms may need replacing.

Instructions

    • 1

Inspect the servo arms. Those are the small, rod-like plastic pieces attached to the servos and the swashplate, which controls the pitch and roll of the helicopter's rotors. If the arms are bent, stuck or broken, they need to be replaced.

    • 2

Use a pair of tweezers to gently remove the old servo arms. The arms should slide easily out of the servo pockets, and the tops of the arms, which are small ball sockets, should snap off the swashplate's ball linkages.

    • 3

Push the new servo arms into place on the servos. Snap the servo arm ball sockets over the swashplate ball linkages.
